A Thousand Falling Skies is a melodic metal band hailing from the small town of Naugatuck, Connecticut. ATFS was formed in April 2000 and still going strong to this day, despite all the hardships they've been through. As they've learned, it's not an easy task to get where they hope to be. As for A.T.F.S the struggles began shortly after the band formed, endless bass players, vehicle problems and neverending financial burdons seemed to plague the band. With a drive that seems to have no bounds all these obstacles have been overcome. The visions that A.T.F.S has and what they have achieved in such a short period of time is to be commended. For example, putting out their own E.P (selling over 2000 copies), Financing their first 2 tours (the 2nd being 3 months long). With all these accomplishments under their belt the next step is to be on a label thats going to work as hard for them as they do themselves.

A Thousand Falling Skies' commitment to stand the tests of time is a direct result of their undying love for what they do. An outward goal to bring their music to as many people as possible, leaving a lasting impression on whoever sees or hears them. With Pedro (vocals), Dave (guitar) J.P (guitar), Kevin (drums), Brendan (bass), they have pushed this project to the limit and nothing is going to stop them now.

Nientara / A Thousand Falling Skies (Split/2003)

Metalcore bands from USA [Connecticut]
Tracklist:
01. Nientara - Separate Ways (Journey Cover)
02. Nientara - Crazy Train (Ozzy Osbourne Cover)
03. Nientara - Rock You Like A Hurricane (The Scorpions Cover)
04. A Thousand Falling Skies - Wasted Years (Iron Maiden Cover)
05. A Thousand Falling Skies - Breaking The Law (Judas Priest Cover)
06. A Thousand Falling Skies - Wanted Dead Or Alive (Bon Jovi Cover)
07. A Thousand Falling Skies - Severed Hope And Broken Dreams (Previously Unreleased)

In March of 2003 Nientara and A Thousand Falling Skies entered The Space Studios with Enoch Jensen of Barium fame with one purpose in mind…to bring the rock! After four grueling days filled with rock star excess the bands came out of the studio with six classic songs that cover the entire spectrum of 80s metal. From classic rock (Iron Maiden, etc.) to hair metal (Bon Jovi, etc) you are bound to find something on here that will make you want to poof up your hair, break out the spandex, and start to rock!
Don’t be fooled by the cover songs, though. Both bands bring the metallic hardcore sound to the covers creating a unique sound that is sure to appeal to all the hardcore kids. Think of this split as an 80s school and Nientara and A Thousand Falling Skies are your teachers. The kind of teachers who can teach at a level that even the most Friendster-ish of fans can understand. So sit back, pop in this CD, and learn about a time when metal was actually good.

As if six covers weren’t enough, A Thousand Falling Skies also included a new track entitled “Severed Hope & Broken Dreams” that they recorded with Zeuss at Planet Z Studios. The song is taking the band’s previous metallic hardcore sound to a whole new level. Be prepared to be blown away.

Recorded with Enoch Jensen at The Space in Greenfield, MA. Nientara recorded March 26th-27th, 2003 and ATFS recorded March 12-13, 2003. Track #7 was recorded with Zuess at Planet Z Studios in January 2003.

A Thousand Falling Skies is an emotionally driven metalcore band from Connecticut. The band was formed as a side project in February 2001 and soon after became the full time focus after the two previous groups split up.

Members of A Thousand Falling Skies consist of Pedro, Dave K., J.P., George and Dave A.. J.P. and Georges' past band Scars Will Heal had left a small impression in New England with the emergence of Dave K., formerly of Cyberchrist and All My Sins, but the band couldn't hold together with reoccurring problems with the other members. Pedro and Dave K. who had recently left All My Sins, another name in the New England scene, were quick to start up a more meaningful project with J.P. and George. Nearly a year later emerged Dave A., a knowledgeable bass player off Asbestos Records band All Held Victim. With this addition, A Thousand Falling Skies set off to accomplish what they have talked about since the beginning.

A Thousand Falling Skies is a tight knit group dedicating themselves to everything, whether it be promotion, writing of new material, or endless shows, it is done together. The band strives hard at making driving melodies with heavy grooves and heart-felt lyrics compiling a variety of styles of music to create something new and ear pleasing for everyone. Perseverance and love of music is what makes up A Thousand Falling Skies.
